Album
Manifesto
Manifesto is a debut album about getting lost on purpose—and finding yourself by accident. This debut feels like a road movie in song—moving from wild mistakes to hard truths, coastal sunsets, faith, love, and finally home. If you love Elton John’s mesmerising melodic piano heart, Billy Joel’s storytelling, Bruce Springsteen’s grit, and the soul of Tom Petty / John Mellencamp, you’ll feel right at home. It’s raw, hopeful, funny, bruised, and real—an album for anyone who’s ever messed up, gotten back up, and kept going.

Lyrics — See You All In Hell
SEE YOU ALL IN HELL
Stevie J Mayer
I’ve had my hair cut in the dark
But that's not the dumbest thing I've done
I've been known to sit alone just waiting by the phone
Hoping for some kind of spark
I've struck wet matches in the rain
And fought men twice the size of me
I caught the wrong train to Paris, with no currency
And had to sleep out by the Seine
And I've been known to fall in love
So many times without reward
But then I've broken hearts as well
I guess I'll see them all in hell
And I've walked with gods upon this earth
But since discovered they were men
And I get to Sydney when I can
Nearly drowned in Manly Dam
So I know what life is worth
Life is worth what you're prepared to pay
And not a red cent less or more
When it’s your time to pay you’ll know this well
And I'll see you all in hell
Good friends are hard to find
But you soon learn which ones are real
Their true colors start to shine
While the others crack & peel
So it's them you leave behind
But you won't have to leave alone, no
There's plenty more like you out there
Answer those who’d have your soul to sell
With, I'll see you all in hell
And do you know what life's about
Or are you dying by degrees
Has your forest turned to trees
The journey bent your knees
So you learned to live without
Life’s about what you’re prepared to pay
And not a red cent less or more
Now move along the carousel
And I'll see you all in hell
If you don’t like the cold it’s just as well
‘Cos you won't feel the cold in hell -

Lyrics — Don't Walk Too Fast
DON'T WALK TOO FAST
Word & music. Copyright 1990
Don't walk too fast
I might not be there when you turn around
You walk too slow
And they'll trample you into the ground
She said, ah… life's so hard to figure out
I'd appreciate a call when you figure it out
If you figure it out
Just stand in line
And don't you speak when it's not your turn
And you'll do fine
A little slow but in time you'll learn
She said, ah… life's too short I think you know
Just let them be and we'll all get on with the show
Yeah on with the show
All this time
Been tryin' to tell you that she's leaving
You don't hear
Because you never shut your mouth
Don't know how
You even find the time for breathing, yeah yeah
But anyway she's moving out
Yeah she's moving out
Move out!
Why can't you look me in the eye
You treat me like I'm the parking police
No one can see your point, nor can I
Na na na na na na
Too fast, baby baby too fast
Don't walk too fast
I won't be behind
You walk too slow
Too fast too slow

Lyrics — One Woman Man
You come knockin’ on my door
As if you don’t know the score
What part didn’t you understand
When I said I’m a one woman man
Now you’ve been running around with this too long
Lookin’ for love the best you can
That’s not for me, I’m a one woman man
I don’t expect you’d understand
You hear little things about me
And your obsession, just feeds the mystery
You laugh and try to relate, oh
You gotta stop it now, before it’s too late
Now you’ve been running around with this too long
Lookin’ for love the best you can
What’s wrong with you, I’m a one woman man
Thought by now you’d understand
This song of faith
This song of truth
This song of life
This song of love
But oh no
I guess you’ll never understand
Oh no
Ooh, one woman man
Ooh, one woman man
Ain’t she supposed to be your friend?
Well I’m a one woman man, ooh yeah
No, I’m a one woman man
Hey, I’m still a, still a one woman man
Aah, and I’m doin’ the best I can
To be a one woman man -

Lyrics — Communication
Well here am I at the end of this road
Another journey ending
But at least I've stopped pretending that I'm found
There I was with a gun at my head
A finger on the trigger
And my ego getting bigger everyday
At least now I'm admitting I was scared
I could be right, I could be wrong
But I never will find out if I dwell on it all too long
Who can tell, who's gonna know
No wonder we're crazy
When there's so much confusion
And a lack of communication
How many times
How many days and nights of knock out fights
Have dimmed the lights of Gods own inspiration
How many times
You say you'll give it up tomorrow
This is not your only sorrow
And you can drop it anytime you want to
So think about that time in your life
When everything was rosy
You were comfortable and cosy with your life
What has changed, what has gone wrong
Did you place too many expectations
On your loved ones 'til relations gone
At least be man enough to say when you’re wrong
You could be right, you could be wrong
But you never will find out if you dwell on it all too long
Who can tell, who's gonna know
No wonder you're crazy
When there's so much confusion
And a lack of communication
How many times
How many days and nights of knock out fights
Have dimmed the lights of Gods own inspiration
How many times
You say you'll give it up tomorrow
This is not your only sorrow
And you can drop it anytime you want to
So you try to find a way
To get back to your yesterday
To give the love you never gave
And raise the corpses from their graves
When suddenly you realise
Life has up and passed you by
Your cradle of desire has gone
And rocked into oblivion
How many times, how many times
How many days and nights of knock out fights
Have dimmed the lights of Gods own inspiration
How many times
Yeah, you say you'll give it up tomorrow
And this is not your only sorrow
And you can drop it anytime you want to
How many times, how many times
How many days and nights of knock out fights
Have dimmed the lights of Gods own inspiration
How many times
You say you'll give it up tomorrow
This is not your only sorrow
And you can drop it anytime you want to
Yeah you can drop it anytime you want to
Sure you can drop it anytime
You can drop it anytime
Yeah you can drop out anytime you want to -

Lyrics — Movin' On
I felt that I was slowly goin' down
Like a burnin' candle to the ground
Somehow there's gotta be
A better life for me
The time has come to break what’s binding me
So I head out on the highway once again
But I never will be back this way again
I leave with no regrets
Just my favorite cassettes
Now I'm half way down the road to happiness
And I feel a little easier in my mind
Knowin' that I don't have to be anywhere on time
No destination planned no time to understand
There's nowhere in this world I'd rather be…
I tell you I feel free for the first time in my life
I feel free and its alright, yeah yeah
And each town that I pass through calls my name
But I guess that I'll keep drivin' just the same
No need to settle down
In this crazy one horse town
Well thanks but all the same I'm movin' on
Because I feel free for the first time in my life
Yeah I feel free and its alright
And I feel a little easier in my mind
Knowin' that I don't have to be anywhere on time
No need to settle down
In this crazy one horse town
Yeah thanks but all the same I'm movin' on -

Lyrics — The Incredible Story of Joe Bloggs, So Far
When I was eight years old
I played with plastic soldiers
Mother said don't son it's not nice
Then when I turned ten
I discovered skateboards
The soldiers took a back seat for the ride
Then adolescence came
And suddenly I changed
And I discovered girls were much more fun
Woh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Then I couldn't wait 'til I turned seventeen
So I could buy a car and join the scene
And everything went so fast
It was late December
Another year gone another passed
And for my twenty first
I had a mighty thirst
Some friends came round
I thought it would be fun
Yeah we all got smashed
And one of my friends crashed
His funeral was on June 21 (too young)
Then at twenty four
I went lookin' for some answers
Mother said you can't change what can't be changed
And eight years further on
All the answers were the same
Acceptance sort of came to ease the pain
So I was just a man in a sardine can
Who'd like to settle down and start a life
She was twenty nine and runnin' out of time
A voice said I pronounce you man and wife
Then at forty five it seems I hit the big time
Distinguished and respected in my field
But the hours were so long
They said you should not be alone
Someone to fix a drink and bring a meal
But she was half my age and straight out of a page
Of Playboy magazine I dropped my jaw
And the vodka’s were so strong
And her legs were so long
I had to have her right there on the floor
Woh oh oh oh oh oh oh
So the wife found out and she moved out
To northern New South Wales
The place we always said we’d move together
Now the single bars and takeaways
Have shown to me a loser
Because of this god-dammed horse I couldn’t tether
And don't think you're immune
For it could happen soon
Then you'll find out how weak or strong you are
I know it sounds absurd
But what you have just heard
Is the incredible story of Joe Bloggs, so far
The incredible story of Joe Bloggs so far
Yes the incredible story of Joe Bloggs, so far
Watch out man, if it can happen to me it can happen to you -

Lyrics — Maybe Tomorrow
Ain’t got no money and I'm out of time
Lost so much sleep I think I lost my mind
Somebody wake me if I'm not on my feet by five
Tell me baby what went wrong
I'm drivin' cabs instead of sellin' songs
My self esteem is at an all time low, oh no
But maybe, tomorrow will ease my pain
From two fat dollars and a lousy ball and chain
Yeah maybe, tomorrow will bring some rain, oh
'cos I don't wanna have to go through life this way
I was raised by a cold hard man
He had no love, but he had a good backhand
He clipped my wings but I still sing and fly like a dove
And in the end it all sunk in
Relationships have never been my thing
I've tried and tried
But you know I never learned how to love
Maybe, tomorrow will ease my pain
From two fat dollars and a lousy ball & chain
Maybe, tomorrow will bring some rain, oh
'cos I don't wanna have to go through life this way
Somebody told me long ago, the answer's inside
Funny, but I have always known
You just can't steal it, you've got to feel it
And then you let it go, oh
Baby, baby, baby don't you leave me now
Believe me now
Ooh yeah
Maybe, tomorrow will ease my pain
From two fat dollars and a lousy ball & chain
Maybe, tomorrow will bring some rain
'Cos I don't wanna have to go through life this way" -

Lyrics — One Long Day
Woke up feelin' blue, another day to get me through
But I wish I would stop feeling this way
Tears flowed down my cheeks
And like a flood they stained my sheets
And washed all my nice dreams away
Some days I'm just fine, other days I'm borderline
Thinkin’ I am things that I am not
You know what its like, even when you try try try
Either way you end up gettin' bruised
So I go out today, but my heart says no wait
You won't get hurt if you stay inside
I wanna rise up high and break through the sky
I know I can
If I make a vow and stick to the plan
I can, I know I can
Come on baby help me now
I wanna love but I don't know how
Show me how
I feel a pain that I can't describe
Ooh I'm on a mystery ride
Don't know where
Can't you tell me where
Someone take me, take me
Ooh, won’t you take me there -

Lyrics — Bondi Road
I’m walkin’ down Bondi Road
I see the waves crash on the cliffs
Think I might do the same
Around Tamarama’s always nice
The wind blows hard and cold as ice
And the ocean knows my name
If I could fly tonight
Wouldn’t it be nice
Then I could lighten up this load
If I could fly tonight
Fly high and bright
Then I could leave my troubles behind
On Bondi Road
Now I broke the rules once or twice
But I’ve done my time a thousand times
And there’s no place left to run
And now as I look back on my life
My youthful ways have led me blind
From my seasons in the sun, so my friend
If I could fly tonight
Wouldn’t it be nice
Then I could lighten up this load
If I could fly tonight
Fly high and bright
Then I could leave my troubles behind
On Bondi Road
Ooh yeah
If I could fly tonight
I could make things right
Then maybe I could start again
Yeah if I could fly tonight
Fly high and bright
Then I could leave my troubles behind
On Bondi Road
Ooh, wish I could leave my troubles far behind
On Bondi Road
Yeah I’m gonna leave it all behind

Lyrics — Love Is Letting Go
I can see my life has changed
From my days of misspent youth
When I thought my feet were on the ground
But they were really on the roof
Shelley was a friend of mine
She taught me to release
And she helped me see the good in me
Just the beauty not the beast
And she said…
Please don't worry there’s no hurry
Life will take care of you
And la la la la, that’s what love is
That tramps are not all thieves
La la la, and that’s where God is
In the truth beneath the lies
La la la, I had forgotten
Love is letting go of fear
La la la, that’s when love gets real
Sharon was no good for me
I knew it from the start
But now as life unfolds its gifts to me
It closes Sharon's cold cold heart
When everything you have is gone
Try to understand
It was only ever on loan to you
And just a part of His great plan
And He said…
Please don't worry there’s no hurry
I will take care of you
And la la la la, that’s what love is
That tramps are not all thieves
La la la, and that’s where God is
In the truth beneath the lies
La la la, I had forgotten
That love is letting go of fear
La la la, and that’s when love gets real
Woh woh
Woh woh
Woh woh
Ooh yeah
La la la la la la la…
Love is letting go
Love is letting go
Yeah love is letting go

Lyrics — The King & I
I know you're there
I know you can hear me
You're not foolin' anyone at all
But what do you care
Up in your tower?
You’re waiting for someone to call you a King
Someone to laugh when you're joking
Someone you can dominate
Someone who feels guilty for something
You're the King of the castle
And though it’s a farce it’ll do
I’ve got a friend
She’s riddled with cancer
Every night she throws her prayers away
How do you sleep?
And why don't you answer?
You must be some kind of kinky old ghost
Sad and sadistic and deaf as a post
Mad as the world that you made
A fraud and devoid of a sensitive bone
You’re a sad lonely pauper
Has nobody taught you to feel?
And my brother Big John
Man he's so bitter
A tortured mind and blind in his left eye
He says when he's gone
You'll have him to answer
He'll tear down your old pearly gates
Beat up Saint Peter and all of his mates
’Cos he'll have nothing to lose
I'd be afraid if I were you
He's coming to get you
I wouldn't elect to be in your shoes
Why don’t you tell me are you there?
Can’t you hear or don’t you care?
Too busy playing solitaire?
We’re waiting here but you’re nowhere
Ooh ooh ooh -

Lyrics — Way Back Home
Livin' aint easy out here on the road lately
I get to missin' my home cooked meals and my lady
So I'm, I'm, I'm, I’m, I'm, I'm on my way back home
Yeah I'm, I'm, I’ m, I’m, I'm, I'm on my way back home
Yeah and you know what
I made some good friends and we shared our lives on the journey
But all good things must end so I’m heading back home early
Cos I'm, I'm, I'm, I’m, I'm, I'm on my way back home
Yeah I'm, I'm, I’m, I’m, I'm, I'm on my way back home
Ooh, I’m comin’ home, I’m comin’
And everyone back home I know they keep my candle burning
And as I’m touching down I feel a rush and their yearning
Cos I'm, I'm, I'm, I’m, I'm, I'm on my way back home
Yeah I'm, I'm, I’m, I’m, I'm, I'm on my way back home
I'm, I'm, I'm, I’m, I'm, I'm on my way back home
Yeah I'm, I'm, I’m, I’m, I'm, I'm on my way back home
Ooh, I’m comin’ home, I’m comin’
Ooh, I’m comin’ home, I’m comin’
I'm, I'm, I'm, I’m, I'm, I'm on my way back home
Yeah I'm, I'm, I’m, I’m, I'm, I'm on my way back home
I'm, I'm, I'm, I’m, I'm, I'm on my way back home
Yeah I'm, I'm, I’m, I’m, I'm, I'm on my way back home.
